Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP)

Our Intensive Outpatient Programs (IOP) are designed to provide more structure and support to interrupt symptom use, and can be used as a step up or as a step down in level of care. The program format allows individuals to remain engaged in school and/or work while getting added support. Prior to starting the program, the patient will meet with a therapist to complete an initial assessment and establish treatment goals. Following that assessment, the patient will meet with a registered dietitian to complete a nutritional assessment and work together to develop an individualized meal plan. Some individuals entering the program may already have a meal plan, and they will continue to work with the dietitian in the program to make modifications to help the client meet their treatment goals.

Our treatment staff has a commitment to collaborating with other community professionals including physicians, therapists and dietitians to coordinate care and ensure appropriate aftercare treatment is provided.

The Young Adult IOP is designed for individuals age 16-22. A multidisciplinary approach is utilized along with traditional cognitive behavioral therapy for individuals with anorexia, bulimia or binge eating disorder. A unique component of our program is that we offer co-facilitated groups that are led by both male and female psychotherapists with extensive experience working with eating disorders. This approach allows us to evaluate and process various interpersonal dynamics that may be crucial to an individual's recovery. This program is offered four evenings per week on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Groups include:
  • Group therapy
  • Medication management
  • Nutritional counseling
  • Meal planning

  • Family therapy
  • Therapeutic meals prepared by dietitians
  • Art therapy
  • Nursing/Medical groups
  • Body image curriculum
Psychiatric services, nutritional counseling, individual and family therapy sessions augment the treatment process on an individualized basis.
